Our Why

Rodney Keith Lambright often reminisced about the difficulty in accessing and raising awareness for academic resources in the African American community. A teenage student who doesn’t have the privilege of parents who have gone to college themselves, who have the skills and resources, or who have the connections to set their child up for success is placed under a hefty burden.

He and his wife, Dionne, saw this from a young age as they struggled to navigate the process. It became even more prevalent as they were helping their three children prepare for college. Many African American parents didn’t know how to help their children with the application process, financial aid options, and finding scholarship opportunities, limiting their ability to advise their children and leaving many kids at a disadvantage. He always wanted to be part of solving this issue in the community.

Mission

Vision

By creating this foundation, the vision is to not only help financially but also provide resources that will assist students in gaining the knowledge and experience necessary to help bridge the gap.
